Bayside Smash Repairs was started by Robbie Schumak, son of Mick and Sue Schmak who for over 30 years have operated a successful auto body repair shop in Hillsdale. Mick Schumak originally started this trade as an apprentice in 1965. When the opportunity arose at Hillsdale to start their own panel beating shop, Maroubra Auto Refinishers was born. Mick worked in the workshop and wife Sue did all the office duties.
During this time Mick always maintained a strong interest in Building Hot Rods & Custom cars. He worked on many of N.S.W top cars and gained reputation as one of Sydney's top Panel beater/spray painter.
In 1982 the business continued to grow the old workshop was demolished to make way for a new workshop that is there to this day. In the late eighties Mick's son Robbie become a regular member of the staff at and followed in his father shoe steps to become an auto body repair specialise. After many years along his side his dad Robbie opened his own successful workshop in Botany Bayside Smash Repairs.
Robbie and his team are fast and efficient with repairs. I had my Honda repaired here and was extremely happy with how things went. I will certainly recommend and will be going back or any repairs.
